2010
The bay yearling gelding Kaja SPA (pictured below) by Erin Park Nelson and out of Boomori Kismet [Chip Chase Kiawanna X Dandaloo Baylanie], has been sold to Rosemary Hams of Tamworth. This very tall rich bay gelding is promising to reach 15.2h and has excellent saddle horse potential. As Rosemary is a student of natural horsemanship and a dressage enthusiast, Kaja SPA will eventually make his way to the dressage arena after being started with Natural Horsemanship.
A second pure crabbet bay yearling gelding, Bajardo SPA (pictured below) has also been sold. He is a very well conformed showy fellow with a beautiful big eye and excellent action. He is also by EP Nelson and out a Ruberto grand-daughter, Boomori Briana by Bolshoi. Bajardo is heading north to his new home with Kirsty Mead of Dalby, Qld. He will be halter trained by Jennifer before leaving the stud, where he will then be shown in-hand before Kirsty begins a saddle career with him.
2009
Was a busy year with lots of stud activity. The stallion Silver Radain (pictured below) by Silver Somerio [dec] and out of the beautiful old blood-marked mare Sarachet by Fenwick Panache, was sold to 'Paywit Stud' in Victoria. The Byrne family are thrilled with Radain, as he settles into his new life as a paddock stallion accompanied by a number of Sindh [imp] grand-daughters
The breeding season was very active with Iqbal beginning his stud duties. He covered some beautiful mares, mostly pure crabbet, for the Spring 2010 foaling season with several daughters of Fenwick Panache, other mares by Fenwick Rendevous, Mildom, Silver Somerio, Chip Chase Kiawanna, Boomori Hallmark, Boomori Kahlua, Magic Myth, Arfaja Sarif, Arfaja Danyon and Arfaja Robard. We wait with great enthusiasm for his first foals due in Aug.
We also look forward with great interest to the results of new matings by our pre-potent stallion Sarif, from mares by Bolshoi, Braheem, Erin Park Nelson, Arfaja Danyon and San Salvador.
The foaling season produced yet another great crop of pure crabbet foals by Sarif .An excellent bay colt, Safaan SPA [pend], 2 lovely grey colts from Panache mares Eveeta and Kahlia, 5 beautiful fillies, 3 bay and 2 greys. Silver Radain sired a very tall grey colt with excellent movement, already earmarked for endurance.
Eliseo SPA, at 11 months, experienced his first outing/show, the Australian Hunter Association Championships, which was held at the fabulous new Australian Equine Centre at Tamworth, NSW. Not only were Eliseo’s manners impeccable, he showed himself beautifully and was awarded Reserve Champion Open Arabian Male against all mature stallions.
We also spent time training and competing at the same event with the high percentage gelding Silver Sundance. Owner, Rosemary Hams, was thrilled after we worked out enthusiastically in the spacious indoor arena, to take out Champion Ridden Purebred and won Arabian Hunter under Saddle. This was also Silver Sundance’s first show under saddle. After a number of years out of the 'show saddle’, the Judges following comments were inspiring. As she deliberated over the Supreme Ridden between Silver Sundance and the very seasoned derivative, she announced that ‘ this gelding’ could take out an Australian Saddle Horse title. Great encouragement for his owner.
2008
Saw the exciting arrival of the young grey pure crabbet colt, Binley Prince Iqbal [ pronounced 'Ic-barl], imported from the UK. He was bred by Caroline Sussex of Binley Stud, daughter of author and breeder Rosemary Archer. See stallion page for more information on Iqbal.
The 15.2h elegant grey gelding Dartanyon SPA, half-brother to Eveeta, by Arfaja Danyon [dec], was sold to experienced endurance rider Libby Chapman of Victoria. Before leaving the stud he was started under saddle and proved to be a fabulous horse to work with. Extremely light and well balanced to ride, with one of the best canters I have ridden on a young horse. Having run alongside my Anglo mare Hi Classique at liberty while checking cattle, when it came time for him to experience some quiet cattle-work, he took it all in his stride.
The breeding season produced some excellent pure crabbet foals by A. Sarif including the very tall elegant chestnut sabino colt Eliseo SPA ,a tall scopey sabino filly Ezrella SPA ,a lovely refined grey filly Karishma SPA and a very tall bay filly Akeelah SPA. A fine leggy chestnut filly Edana SPA by Silver Radain and 2 bay colts, Kaja SPA and Bajardo SPA, both by Erin Park Nelson.
